I remember one bright, sunny day, set in the summer. I had recent trouble with my bike, for it was far too slow, broken brakes, and tires that just could not be pumped. So my parents took me out to get a new one. When we arrived to the bike shop, I set my eyes upon a beautiful, green bike. I gave it a test ride, and it zoomed far away from the store within seconds. I eagerly chose this one, without a second's delay. Oh, I rode that beautiful bike for miles, into the forests, on the roads, even getting lost on some rides. Now, a couple of weeks later, I was on one of my daily rides towards the park. I remember the sun gleaming brighter than ever. As I rode upon the sidewalk, a car was leaving from a local walgreens. Me being young and naive, thought that the car was waiting for me to cross. I was right beside the side of the big red pickup truck when all of a sudden, it bumped into me, sending me flying off my beautiful bike. I quickly sprung up, my hands in the air. I was dazed, but otherwise fine. My bike on the other hand looked like it had been squashed like in the cartoons. I arrived home, remembering that I was waiting so long for my new bike. It took approximately three weeks before I saw my favorite green bike again. I guess sometimes life has a hole, and you never really know what you have until it's gone.

Marijuana is a very hot topic today, as many people fight passionately for or against the legalization of marijuana, with many good points made by both sides. Those who are for the legalization of marijuana argue that many people are in jail for non-violent drug crimes, and the legalization of marijuana shall release these individuals, which shall better our society, as well as massively reduce the money spent on the incarceration these people. Those who are against it claim that marijuana is a drug, just like any other drug, that it can cause depression and anxiety, and that it can lead to deformation of children. Famous experts like Dr. Carl Hart support marijuana legalization, refuting the danger commonly associated with it, such as addiction, while advocates like Thomas Gorman talk about the major increase in marijuana users there will be, citing the increase of marijuana users in youth. So how bad is marijuana really? And is it really worth banning or legalizing marijuana?

I am very thankful in 2015. I am thankful for having a house, and being able to be educated. I am thankful that I can eat, and thankful that I have a caring family. I know this part sounds weird, but I am also thankful that I don't have everything I desire, and don't always get my way. I am thankful for making my mistakes, because without them, I wouldn't move forward. I am thankful for who I am and the opportunities I have in life. There are many people in this world, starving, scared, dying. There are many people in this world who don't have to deal with pain, always get what they want, and never take time in life to be thankful. I am thankful that I am neither, and I hope to help both sides, and bring them both to the Thanksgiving table.
